New Jersey-based pop punk band Frnd Crcl has released their new single, ‘Clinically Insane,’ paired with the announcement of their third studio album, ‘Suburban Dictionary’ out June 30th. ‘Clinically Insane’ can be heard as a pop punk rock anthem of frustration, delving into the struggles of growing up and learning to accept change.
The juxtaposition between the instrumentals reminiscent of peak 2010s pop punk and heavy lyrics only scratch the surface of what the album is – a conceptual piece that, from start to finish, takes you through a day in the life of the average suburbanite.
Starting at ‘7AM’ and delving into social issues, love, and mental health, the progression of songs and the overall concept is an encapsulation of the band’s evolution, summarizing Frnd Crcl as a whole while defining their signature urban punk and imaginative sound.
“’Suburban Dictionary’ is for those who take things not at surface value, but who aren’t afraid to stray deeper into their minds. This is very much a story of the common, a punk rock take on a punk rock revolution delivered with the spirit of punk through pop melody” shares the band.
Having been compared to Blink-182, Simple Plan and Sum 41 with lightning-fast structures, catchy melodies, and hip hop delivered harmonies, Frnd Crcl continue to carve their niche into the realm of pop punk, bringing their delightful nostalgic yet strikingly infectious fresh feel to the fifth wave of pop punk.
