Santa Barbara’s Versus The World will release their Cameron Webb-produced album ‘The Bastards Live Forever’ on toorrow via SBÄM Records. Today the band released the last single ‘The Miserable.’
Here’s what singer Donald Spence said about ‘The Miserable’ which features guest vocals from Brenna Red of The Last Gang: “‘The Miserable’ was the last thing we did for the record and it felt like a good way to book-end everything. The lyrics were inspired by the way I had felt about the 14 month lockdown in California. It starts frantic and dark – the minor chords give a bit of an ominous feeling – but by the last chorus it’s much bigger and brighter. I took inspiration from Les Miserables, which I have been lucky enough to see a few times, to make the ending feel the way it does. It was a blast to put all these weird ideas together.”
