Spartan Records and Chris Simpson are excited to announce the music video for ‘Dream Homes’, the title track to the Friday, October 25th release of the Texas-based indie-rock veteran’s new full-length album under his celebrated Mountain Time moniker.
Simpson had the following to share about the track: “‘Dream Homes’ is about the balance between order and chaos. The free pursuit of destiny. The tension between the floating, boundless creative endeavors and the rooted, grounded, presence of building a life with another human being. I felt I had only recently figured out how to be truly present in my creative work and was still some way off from finding this peace in my relationship. The balance was something I worried was impossible at the time, and yet I knew I longed for both of these things in equal measure.”
He continues: “This was woven into the idea that the kind of music and creative work I admired and wanted to make was certainly not a way to make a living financially, and a career, for lack of a better word, felt like it would always elude me in this work. The world, it seemed, wasn’t particularly interested in what I had to say or what I saw in my head. Instead what I saw around me as examples of what people did want to hear or were interested in felt plastic and soulless to me. This was my conundrum at the time. I was traumatized by the idea that I was potentially living in my dream home instead of making a home for my dreams. The difference mattered.”
