Mountain Time reflects on both the horrors of war and our inner battles on new single ‘War Kids’

Spartan Records and Chris Simpson are excited to announce the music video for ‘War Kids’, the latest single to be lifted from the Friday, October 25th release of the Texas-based indie-rock veteran’s new full-length album under his celebrated Mountain Time moniker.

“The song alludes to a very real sense of the actual horrors of war, but, as the song’s protagonist exemplifies: for most of us in the world — no matter how compassionate or empathetic we may be — these horrors only ever take place in our imaginations,” Simpson says of ‘War Kids’. “Equally important to the song’s message is a contemplation of the sorts of wars we all fight — and often lose — throughout our lives, specifically the struggle to maintain our childlike wonder, openness and vulnerability in the face of the world, and what/who we perceive as the other, when everything we are taught is to isolate and protect ourselves at all costs.”
