Hot off the back of her outstanding London debut live show at a sold-out Lafayette last night, Clementine Douglas returns to share her latest solo single ‘True.’ With an ever so slight uplift in the tempo, this latest release nods to the darker corners of her club culture roots, D&B, breakbeat and more punctuated by her singular voice and lush instrumentation with soft keys and dreamy sax.
Since the release of her debut single ‘Riddles’ and follow up ‘Slippin’, Clementine Douglas’ solo work has been given the nod from all the right names – with the likes of Jaguar for her BBC Introducing: Dance Ibiza Special, Sian Eleri and Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on BBC Radio, Capital Xtra (playlist) championing her on the airwaves, alongside NME, Wonderland, Clash, The Line of Best Fit and more supporting online. The demand doesn’t end here, her debut tour kicking off in her hometown of Birmingham on the 19th October, with further dates in Brighton (23rd), London (24th), Manchester (25th) and Glasgow (27th) sold out 3200 tickets to all 8 UK dates within 15 minutes.
Speaking on ‘True’, she shares: “I’m excited for this release, it’s the first track I’ve put out that I’ve produced and written on my own. It’s about giving your all to somebody unconditionally and to me it sounds like an enchanted midnight garden. Hope you enjoy.”
