Hot Water Music release video for ‘Bury Your Idols’

Punk veterans Hot Water Music have released a video for ‘Bury Your Idols.’ The song comes off ‘Light It Up’ LP which came out last year via Rise Records. Their eighth full-length studio effort, ‘Light It Up’ follows 2012’s ‘Exister’ and marks Hot Water Music‘s second release through Rise Records — and found the group self-producing, helping create a musical aesthetic that the band members hear as hearkening back to their debut 1997 ‘Fuel for the Hate Game’ LP.

‘Bury Your Idols’ is simply a message to the youth of today,” explains singer and guitarist Chuck Ragan, “to recognize that we all hold a voice and the power for change if we mobilize our dreams.”

“The most exciting part about this record for us was self-producing and being in control from start to finish,” enthused the members of Hot Water Music prior to ‘Light It Up’ release. “We haven’t made a record this way since ‘Fuel For the Hate Game.’ As frightening as it was to not have the safety net and sounding board of a producer, it was just as liberating to make a record that is 100 percent Hot Water Music, scars and all.”

The ‘Bury Your Idols’ video arrives in advance of Hot Water Music‘s spring tour dates, which will see the band heading to Australia for a handful of shows before traveling to Europe and then finally back to Florida in May. “‘Bury Your Idols’ is one of my favorite songs on ‘Light It Up,’ so I’m stoked for it to be getting some extra attention,” says bassist Jason Black. “We’ve been playing it live and it’s become a sweet spot in the set — one of the new songs that connect well right away.”
