Between Bodies, an international band with members based in Canada and Germany has announced their new EP ‘On Fences.’ The EP will be out on December 13th via Krod Records.
“‘On Fences’ is a record about indecision and hesitation,’ shares the band. Things are always shiny and exciting when they are new but turn more mundane and grey over time and it is impossible to tell up to which point you should stick with something whether it is a job, a relationship or a band through harder times to be there when the sun comes out again and to draw a line when a point is reached where something just won’t make you happy enough again to keep on going. Because no one can tell you. Your situation is always unique and not comparable to others. There is always that faint voice in your head asking you whether things could be better if you just quit whatever you are doing and started a new.”

In addition to the EP announcement, the band also shared a new single ‘Great,’ which can be heard below. About the song, the band shared: “‘Great’ is a song about ambition and creative drive that can be destructive and toxic. I’ve seen a person that is close to me ruin herself for months on end in the search for something that made her feel proud and like she had found her way in life. I felt super helpless in that situation and it was hard to bare watching her go down that road in front of my eyes. There’s only so much you can do to support your friends and family in who they want to be but sometimes they need to be slowed down and reminded of their worth independently of what they accomplish and create. But what are you to do when they are not listening because they feel not content with where they are right now at all?”

Between Bodies started out as a creative valve for most of the band to either write songs, riffs and lyrics that didn’t really find a place in the other bands they are or were in or to finally play another instrument than they all do in those aforementioned projects. the band members are playing or used to play in Giver (Benni and Chris), A Time To Stand (Nils) and Worst Gift (Susan) and toured a lot in the past but wanted to start something new with both old and new friends. Nils, Chris and Benni have known each other for almost 15 years and Susan just moved to Germany this year. So the band got together, wrote the EP over the course of a year via Dropbox folders and one-man demos and recorded all six songs with Paras at Level 3 Entertainment Studio in Essen.
