Chase and Status recently returned to the limelight unveiling their hard-hitting and trailblazing new single ‘When It Rains’ featuring BackRoad Gee. Now, they share a trademark-cinematic visual, directed by the incredible Hector Dockrill, ‘When It Rains’ tells a visual, magnetic, and emotive story, acted by Jack McMullen from the acclaimed BBC drama ‘Time.’ The duo is making a true statement of intent for the year ahead, with the promise of even more new music on the way.
Speaking on the video, director Hector Dockrill states: “In our harsh reality where it often feels as though the world is against you, we wanted to make a film about just a really shit morning. And as a gluttonous human, how far will you go to get what you want (a morning ciggie), and how one bad decision, leads to another, and that tunnel vision can spiral into chaos. Jack McCullen pulls off the role of a scumbag that only cares about himself, and I think we quickly learn, so does everyone else. No happy ending, no resolution, just a quick moment of madness full of adrenaline and somewhat humor. But yes, this is just a really shit morning.”
For trailblazers Chase and Status, the story is cyclical – a constant process of regeneration and refinement that comes full circle. Everything that came before, from their inception point to now, has brought them back to their essence.
