Selfish Things release new video ‘Blood’ featuring Andy Leo

Selfish Things are gearing up for the release of their debut full-length and two incredible North American tours this Fall. But today, the Toronto 4-piece rock band has dropped a visceral music video for brand new single ‘Blood’ featuring Andy Leo of Crown The Empire.

On the track, frontman Alex Biro shares “My grandma was dying. She had a white blood cell count of 40 000 which is (if my memory serves me correctly) 10 times what it should be for a normal person. WZRD BLD and one of our friends KJ had the chorus pretty much set in stone, and the band and I took it from there. Definitely one of my favorite songs on the album, although birthed from a difficult moment in my life.”

The accompanying music video, directed by Miguel Barbosa, shows a visual representation of what Biro felt during that time. Miguel and I work pretty seamlessly together. He gives me space to creative direct all of our videos and really brings my ideas to life alongside Ryan Glover, our cinematographer. Conceptually, I wanted to do something that represented both the madness and desperation of death and illness. I hope that was accomplished.”

Due out September 20th via Pure Noise Records, Selfish Things’ full-length debut Logos is a collection of 11 tracks that dive right into the psyche of Biro. “I want people to know that there is strength in your faults. It’s just as important to suffer as it is to find moments of joy and happiness. Darkness and light need one another,” shares Biro on the upcoming album.

‘Blood’ joins previously released singles ‘Hole,’ ‘Pride,’ ‘Flood’ and ‘Drained’ (feat. William Ryan Key) from the forthcoming album, which was produced entirely by WZRD BLD.
