UK rap heavyweight AJ Tracey and Croydon-based breakout star Pozer are shaking up the scene with their explosive new single, ‘Heaterz’. The high-energy single, perfectly combines the old influence of Grime with the new era and brings together AJ Tracey’s masterful lyricism with Pozer’s innovative style; capturing the raw energy of British rap. ‘Heaterz’ samples a legendary Grime beat, originally made by Iron Soul’s ‘Gunshot Riddim’.
Speaking on the single, AJ Tracey states: “New riddim – getting everyone warmed up for me dropping more new music in January. Me and Pozer, we sound very similar, so this collab just made sense. Hope you all like it.”
Pozer adds: “This is one of my favourite tracks so far. I’m tryna cement a good year and linking up with AJ was only right as I’ve been listening to him for as long as I can remember. We first linked up during Paris fashion week & then linked up back up in London to finish the record”
Released via AJ’s own label, Revenge Records, ‘Heaterz’ comes as AJ Tracey continues a productive wave of singles including ‘Bubble Bath’, ‘Joga Bonito’, and ‘Wifey Riddim 4’. Earlier this year, AJ set out to engage with his fans across Europe, from studio collaborations with international artists in Paris, Milan, Berlin, and Amsterdam, to surprise meet-ups with his supporters, and an intimate, live-streamed London pop-up performance. In ‘Heaterz’ AJ collaborates with new UK rap talent, Pozer, whose recent single ‘Puppies’ (produced by RATHAGAWD and sampling Radiohead) has captivated fans with its inventive sound and lyrical dexterity. Despite having released only four singles and a viral ‘Mixtape Madness Next Up’ feature, Pozer is already pushing boundaries in UK rap with his unique blend of Jersey club, UK drill, and grime influences. His earlier releases, ‘Kitchen Stove’, ‘Malicious Intentions’, and ‘I’M TRYNA’ have all charted within the OCC Top 100, marking him as Britain’s next big breakout star.
