Alan Walker + Lost Frequencies @ Exit Festival 2017, Novi Sad, Serbia

Words: Miljan Milekić

One of the things that Exit Festival takes the most pride in is its diversity. Having so many different artists and genres is what makes it so special and so popular. And this night was no different. Just minutes after Liam Gallagher finished his headlining set, Main Stage turned into a massive dancefloor for more than 30 000 people and welcomed two rising stars of the European EDM scene – Lost Frequencies and Alan Walker.

Belgian hitmaker came in first, taking over the stage and turning it into one big party. Combining his own music with the latest bangers from the genre, he easily got the crowd going, using the hour he got to show why there’s so much hype around his name. Playing a lot of his own music, he proved that he’s a musician and producer more than he’s a DJ and that he know’s exactly what he’s doing. My personal favorite was, however ‘Here With You,’ a brand new song and collaboration with another Belgian superstar – Netsky.

Norway’s finest, Alan Walker, came in next still riding on the waves of his smashing hit ‘Faded.’ Just a month or so before the show, the song hit another huge milestone, gaining one billion hits on Youtube alone. So, it was no wonder the floor was packed. Although still at a very young age, Walker provided a massive set, touching on his biggest tracks and filling it with the genre’s biggest song of the summer. He could use a bit more experience to step his game up, but time works for him. Also, with massive production, there was hardly a place for a mistake, and Walker duly delivered.
