Having recently dropped, Audio’s ‘[Unsocial]’ saw the producer dig deeper into the sounds he’s cultivated over decades into what is at his core as an artist. And after feeling a certain amount of pressure which came through writing big tracks of a certain style, the RAM Records signee used the ongoing pandemic to help elevate himself out of the pigeonhole he’d found himself, whilst still staying firmly planted at his roots. With the world going into lockdown, he felt a pressure release, not being so reliant on music financially and especially the type of music he’d written to get the best reactions whilst playing out. But after the DJing disappeared, it became more about what he wanted to focus on artistically.
Tracks like ‘Yellow Was the Light’ represented the embracing of this new freedom, which was invigorating for Audio’s journey throughout the making of ‘[Unsocial].’ It stands as a celebration, one which saw him jump back into the same timeline as his family, flipping the situation in his mind. It was as if previously he’d been in lockdown before the pandemic, unable to reach the inspiration which family life now offered him. Being revealed is the music video that accompanies this track. A fitting end to 2021, it’s a perfect representation of the record and it channels the emotion through a visual format.
After the release of ‘[Unsocial]’ and his exclusive ‘Proton’ on RAM’s 2022 annual, Audio has had another massive year. And to celebrate, take a dive into the brand new music video from both RAM and Audio as he aims for another triumphant year within drum & bass, even despite the obstacles it still faces.
