Ink Bomb release music video for single ‘Pressure Cooker’

Dutch punk band Ink Bomb has released a music video for their latest single ‘Pressure Cooker.’ The video was edited by singer Joost Hoedemaekers out of footage and photos from their last minitour, during which the band visited Flensburg in North Germany and Århus in Denmark.

Ink Bomb would like to reveal one low point of this minitour: during the return trip in the south of the Danish peninsula, the multi-belt of their tour bus failed completely. This meant the vehicle couldn’t move another inch. Stranded at a gas station, the sometimes somewhat seemingly sullen guitarist Quirijn Foeken handled the whole situation surprisingly positively: “This is simply a series of facts, followed by another series of facts. That’s all there is to say about it.”

The four bandmates had to wait 10 hours until the guy from the bus rental company came to rescue them in southern Denmark, all the way from Cuijk, in the south of the Netherlands. This saintly man brought with him the only bus that was still available on Sunday. The band members decided to kill time by taking a very long stroll through the lovely rolling Danish countryside. This is how they discovered a village they would otherwise never have encountered: Vedsted (361 inhabitants). There was a small, ice cold lake, a spooky restaurant that was seemingly frozen in time and also a lovely, typically whitewashed Danish church. The band: “The village was so small and remote that we sometimes felt like we were in a horror movie.”

The band played on June 22th in Flensburg in the AZ Hafermarkt, together with German ‘fun rock band’ Kommando Pimperle and on June 23rd in Århus in Sidesporet, together with the Danish-language new wave band HÆRVÆRK.

Ink Bomb released their second album ‘Saudade’ in April. On this album, produced by Quirijn Foeken’s Fiction Studio, the already melodic band shows their melancholic, but nonetheless still energetic side. In addition to ‘Pressure Cooker’, ‘Human Remains’, ‘Theme Song’, ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Tough Cookie’ were also released as singles from this album.
