DC Shoes has released a newly designed pro shoe by photographer and creative director, Lucien Clarke. This first drop of ‘The Lucien’ features a Lucent Shock colorway, a neon yellow showpiece featuring a premium leather upper, merging skateboarding with on-trend designs.
“As a long-time fan of the brand, I’m excited to bring these irreverent designs to skateboarders and fashion enthusiasts worldwide,” says Clarke. “I am committed to honoring the DC’s legacy while also infusing my personal passion for skateboarding and fashion. We want to inspire the next generation to embrace their individuality and push the boundaries of what is possible, both on the streets and in their personal style.”
Clarke’s work has been seen across billboards and buses, European runways and in underground art galleries. Clarke was a close collaborator with the late Virgil Abloh, former creative director at Louis Vuitton, and together they designed the first pro skate shoe offered by the French fashion house. The collaboration marked the beginning of an ongoing creative partnership until Abloh’s untimely passing. Clarke continues to work with Louis Vuitton, most recently walking the spring 22/23 menswear show at Paris Fashion Week.
“Lucien Clarke represents a compelling connection between skateboarding and fashion, making him a truly unique talent,” says David Brooks, executive vice president, of Action and Outdoor sports, Lifestyle, Authentic, owner of DC Shoes. “Seamlessly blending Lucien’s deep roots in skateboarding with DC’s beloved design elements, we’re excited to introduce ‘The Lucien’ to streetwear enthusiasts and skateboarders worldwide.”
