Masked rapper and footballer Dide releases debut EP ’Who Is Dide?’

UK rap newcomer Dide, wowed fans and critics alike with his break-out single ’Thrill,’ which garnered more than 2.3 million views in just two months. Always masked up, he is now known for his instantly recognizable zip-rose-covered head-gear, but flexes with an undeniably distinctive presence and skilled flow.

His sophomore single ’Derby Day’ then landed with a bang; a direct nod to Dide’s day-job as a Premier League footballer, it was written on the way to a Derby game and finished on the coach back.

Yet to reveal his identity, Dide’s mystery has created a huge allure as countless people speculate on who he really is. Today, he releases his debut 8-track EP ‘Who Is Dide?’. His music, whilst hard-hitting, subtly describes the life of a baller; the grueling schedule and intense focus needed. Whilst his bars float effortlessly over the addictive beats, the project remains truly impactful. It has substance, and Dide wants you to hear every word he’s saying. This is how you’ll get to know him, and this is how he will slowly unveil his personality.

Dide speaks on his debut project: “I guess what made me want to do the EP, was that before music I’d always appreciated projects more than singles so it was exciting doing my own for the first time. The aim is to release a body of work that not only resonates with what’s been going on in my life, but something that could resonate with loads of fans across the world in a motivating way. It’s my first introduction into the music industry, and an insight into what my life is like, what footballers lives are, on and off the pitch, and being able to show my versatility in terms of the different track styles, some more commercial, some more conscious. With every verse that I’m writing, every lyric, I want people to have an insight into Dide the artist, Dide the human, and Dide the footballer.”
