Nia Archives launches Up Ya Archives Records with new single ‘Get Loose’ featuring Cheetah

The unstoppable new-gen junglist Nia Archives launches her new record label Up Ya Archives – the official home for everything new gen junglism, exposing the best in 150-170 bpm in dance music. Following a hattrick of first plays last night with Jack Saunders ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, DJ Target ‘Targo Embargo’ on 1xtra and New Music Fix with Tom Ravenscroft on 6Music, To celebrate the news, she shares the label’s debut release with Bristol based newcomer Cheetah called ‘Get Loose’ – a soca-inspired sunshine banger lush with whistles, carnival tinged percussion and heavy basslines featuring both Nia and Cheetah’s vocals.

First stumbling upon Cheetah’s music on Bandcamp, she included ‘Spin Sugar’ from his 2022 EP ‘Sike!’ in her debut BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Continuing to support him, they soon linked up officially in her London studio to make some edits for her upcoming tour and their friendship and collaborative relationship flourished. Like minded new gen junglists drawing inspiration from their love of free party aesthetics, the track comes alongside a strobey, ravey video shot in a warehouse in East London offering a snapshot of Nia and other raver’s young and old skanking out to the tune.

Coming this Friday 25th, Nia will also launch the Up Ya Archives NTS Residency from 5-6pm every month. Episode 1 will find her and Cheetah in the studio, introducing listeners to the radio, the community around it, what releases are on the horizon and well as a cheeky b2b.

Speaking on the track, Cheetah says: “The track came together pretty naturally. It’s essentially an ode to soundsystem and party culture. It’s about that feeling of being completely one on one with the music, head buried into the rig and feeling the bass rattle your ribs. It’s all pretty simple but super energetic, the lyrics are literally an instruction. We took huge inspiration from soca letting the super energetic vocals take control of the track.”

Nia adds: ‘Get Loose’ is about getting loose with the gang. It’s us being care free and not caring too much about what everyone else is up to, we just wanna have some fun!”
