In the midst of a packed summer schedule of shows and festivals including his Glastonbury debut last month, established UK dance music DJ-producer Notion shares the news of his forthcoming mixtape ‘Forwards’ with the last single from the project, ‘Feel Like Me.’
About to embark on his second US and CA tour of this year along with releasing a variety of dancefloor cuts set to feature on the mixtape, ‘Forwards’ will drop on 30th August and will demonstrate Notion moving ‘forwards’ with a fresh and evolved sound that was originally rooted in bass and bassline cuts to a matured and versatile sound of garage, house, breaks, jungle, and electronica. Expanding on the success of ‘OUTSIDER’ back in 2022 that introduced a new and evolved Notion, ‘Forwards’ continues to push this fresh direction forward, marking a more personal project to the DJ-producer:
“I wanted ‘Feel Like Me’ to be a club tune that’s not for the club if that makes sense – it was kind of an attempt to tie up all my different dance music influences into something a bit more personal to me while still keeping those foundations. I’m super happy to finally be putting it out into the world anyway and I hope you like it!”
The Bristol born and bred producer has teased towards this renewed sound with singles across the past few months including ‘Temporary Friends’ with Charlotte Plank, ‘Backbone’ which saw Notion experiment with jungle as well as ‘TV Dreams,’ ‘Gravity’ and ‘Think About U’ that have all pulled elements across house, breaks and garage and have received support and praise so far from Sammy Virji, Conducta, salute, Disclosure, Ewan McVicar and more. ‘Feel Like Me’ rounds up the slew of singles, combining vocal distortion with dreamy synths that soon ramp up into bass fuelled breakdowns sure to pack a punch on all corners of the dancefloor.
