Continuing to champion stellar talent on his D&B Arena award-nominated Device label, René LaVice enlists legendary production duo Stanton Warriors and rising rap vocalists Knytro and Deadly for new single ‘Jump.’ With numerous hits under his belt over the years including ‘Headlock’ and ‘The Calling’ feat. Ivy Mairi paired with an impeccable ear for A&R, naturally, BBC Radio 1 presenter René LaVice and his Device label earned a nomination for best newcomer label at the D&B Arena Awards last year.
With epic collabs flying in for 2021, Stanton Warriors switch up the sound for this latest Device collab. Bursting on the scene back in 2001 with their Stanton Sessions, the duo have decades worth of experience that has seen them tear up the scene with shows at Coachella, Glastonbury, Burning Man, Ultra, and more.
A trademark sound that is utterly undefinable, Stanton Warriors have also graced various labels like XL Recordings, Fabric, Cheap Thrills, Central Station and Universal, alongside running their own label Punks and remixing for everyone from Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim to M.I.A, Gorillaz, and Danny Byrd.
Meanwhile, hip hop vocalist Knytro continues to skyrocket since being signed to Chase & Status’ MTA imprint, transforming into a versatile talent that can lend his style to the worlds of reggae, house, trap, D&B, and more. Equally impressive, Deadly is a founding member of the Midlands grime scene which has seen him make notable appearances on BBC Radio 1 and 1xtra where he slayed the BBC Fire In The Booth Cypher back to back with Stormzy, Ghetts, and more.
Taking no prisoners, ‘Jump’ is a monumental collab that delves into the realms of breaks and broken beats paired with hip hop textures. Boasting rumbling basslines and rattling drum patterns, fierce lyrics from Kyntro and Deadly fuel the energy that is set to ignite speakers globally.
