South London rapper DC today unveils his new single ‘Mains’. The cinematic new drop is classic DC – blending timeless gospel choral elements with keys and his trademark relaxed flow as he muses on where he’s at in his life at the moment. The single arrives with a documentary-style video shot by director LX taking us through a day in the life of DC, splicing lo-fi VHS footage with shots of him walking through South East London.
Speaking on the single, DC said: “‘Mains‘ is an honest representation of where my mind is at, at the moment. It’s a mixture of my current thoughts and feelings about my life, things that are going on around me & glimpses of what I think of the future. The songs make me screw up my face in enjoyment. From the hard hitting lyrics to the production, everything meshes well perfectly. The process of making it was longer than I thought it would be, mainly down to me being a perfectionist. But I’ve been working with Emil for a while now and I had faith that we would be able to make the vision I had for the song a reality. And we did just that.”
