The Boy Detective release new single ‘To The Wanton Will of a Harlot’s Hand’

Ska punk outfit The Boy Detective is back with a brand new single, ‘To The Wanton Will of a Harlot’s Hand’, showcasing their distinctive fusion of high-energy instrumentation and sharp songwriting. The track marks the latest evolution for the band, known for their dynamic sound and commitment to pushing the boundaries of modern ska-punk.

Formed as a recording collaboration between longtime friends Nic Good (guitar, vocals) and Benny Capaul (vocals), The Boy Detective originally served as an outlet for deeply personal songwriting. Over time, the project grew into a full-fledged band, fueled by a passion for the genre and a desire to bring something fresh to the scene.

During the pandemic, the duo wrote and recorded their debut album, ‘Banned From the Bathtub’ (2021), a raw and powerful introduction to their style. By 2022, The Boy Detective had expanded with the addition of Geridan St Peter (trombone) and Seth Urban (saxophone), making their live debut in April of that year. The group’s sound only strengthened with the recent inclusion of Ricky Held (bass), Zach Marshall (drums), and Emily Steils (trumpet) in 2024, rounding out their lineup into a formidable force within the ska-punk community.

Fresh off their signing with Punkerton Records, the band’s 2024 release, ‘Exhibition’, cemented their place in the modern ska-punk landscape. Now, with the arrival of ‘To The Wanton Will of a Harlot’s Hand, The Boy Detective continues their upward trajectory, blending infectious hooks, bold brass sections, and relentless energy that demands attention.

‘To The Wanton Will of a Harlot’s Hand, produced by Steven Warstler (Mat Kerekes Citizen) is now available on all major streaming platforms.

“To the wanton will of a harlot’s hand – is an expression of self- sabotage through relationships and failed second chances. A humanistic depiction of depression and heartache. “I’m not a martyr this was never a sacrifice “. shares Benny Capaul.
