Hungarian punks The Hellfreaks have released new single ‘Witches Heal,’ from their upcoming album ‘God On The Run,’ scheduled for release on February 7th, 2020. ‘Witches Heal’ is the third song from the album that saw the light of the day, and it comes with another video by Mihaszna Film.
Shakey Sue, the lead singer of the band said: “We wanted a song for the album that could even be played in a strip club based on its rhythm, so it is one that you could not only dance to but is also good for writhing around.” Even if pole dancers don’t appear during the clip, the song lyrics literally seduce us to a magical world. ““We are the kids of the witches that you never could burn or even catch” – is the main idea of the refrain, which is, in a metaphorical sense, addressed to all survivors, whether they’ve been through physical or psychological trauma. With the song, we wanted to draw attention to supporting each other in difficult times, standing strong together as brothers and sisters in this world, as the children of “strong and badass witches.”
The clip was shot in a castle built in 1853 (Old Oak Castle Inn), which was named after the 300-year-old oak tree in the garden. All the extras, large crickets, and cockroaches you see in the video in the witches’ farm were hired at a pet food store. The good news is that the royalties of the 6-legged colleagues have been paid in full, in the form of letting them free on the soft lap of mother nature.
