The Punk Rock Museum announces tourguides and events for February

The Punk Rock Museum is the world’s most comprehensive attraction dedicated to the history of the music, culture, and absurdity of punk rock. Located in Las Vegas, it houses artifacts and memorabilia from across the world’s punk scene—such as handwritten lyrics, instruments, clothing, photos, flyers, and artwork.

Encompassing 12,000 square feet at 1422 Western Ave, between the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown, the museum celebrates the genre’s substantial cultural impact over the last half-century. This year’s February tour guides are Dez Cadena, Riki Rachtman, Mike Davenport, Chris Estrada, Karina Denike and Jennifer Finch.

February 2nd – Free Locals Day

February 2nd – Free Locals Day

The Punk Rock Museum is excited to welcome the Urban Youth Performing Arts Center (UYPAC), a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring creativity and empowering Nevada’s youth through the arts. UYPAC provides an inspiring space for young people to explore music and dance, building their self-confidence, life skills, and artistic potential. By nurturing the next generation of artists and leaders, UYPAC is shaping a brighter future for our community.

This February, UYPAC will kick off an exciting fundraising campaign to support its mission. They’ll be accepting monetary donations, as well as gently used or new music gear (picks, straps, tuners, and more). The Triple Down Bar at the museum, will be introducing the signature cocktail ‘Uptown Funk’. A portion of proceeds from every drink sold during the month will directly benefit UYPAC’s youth programs.

We’re also thrilled to have Tofu Tees on board. Founded by 16-year-old Kumei, Tofu Tees is a youth-owned business that not only creates fashion-forward apparel but also shines a spotlight on important social causes. Through her brand, Kumei is making a meaningful impact on the Las Vegas community, blending creativity and social responsibility into every design.

Our event sponsor for this Free to Local Day is Nothing To Do In LV (NTDILV), a platform that has become a beloved cornerstone of the Las Vegas community. Founded by musician Coco Jenkins, NTDILV celebrates local businesses, unique events, and everything that makes Las Vegas special. From quirky spots to hidden gems, NTDILV keeps the community informed and engaged. NTDILV will have a table at the event, offering more details about what they do and how they contribute to the vibrant Las Vegas scene.

Hot Take and The Red Sea will cap off the day with live performances.

Artifact of the Month: Kurt Cobain’s Jacket

In celebration of Kurt Cobain’s birthday on February 20th, we present this incredible Artifact of the Month: Kurt Cobain’s iconic leather jacket. This piece of history was traded with Brendon Mendoza in 1992 for one of Mendoza’s exclusive ‘Peart Jovi’ t-shirts — a limited-edition design he shared with a select few in Seattle during the height of the grunge movement. This jacket is a rare glimpse into the underground culture that defined the era and is generously on loan from the Estate of Brendon Mendoza.
