The Punk Rock Museum is the world’s most comprehensive attraction dedicated to the history of the music, the culture, and the absurdity of punk rock. Located in Las Vegas, it houses artifacts and memorabilia from across the world’s punk scene—such as handwritten lyrics, instruments, clothing, photos, flyers, and artwork.
Encompassing 12,000 square feet at 1422 Western Ave, between the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown, the museum celebrates the genre’s substantial cultural impact over the last half-century. This year’s September tour guides are: This year’s November tour guides are: Dicky Barrett (Mighty Mighty Bosstones/The Defiant), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Joe Escalante (The Vandals), Matt Pinfield (Music Historian/Radio Host), Smelly (NOFX) and Todd Morse (The Offspring).
November 3rd – November Free Locals Day!
This Native American Heritage Month, The Punk Rock Museum is turning up the volume on community support! We’re proud to team up with The Solidarity Fridge, an inspiring Indigenous-led initiative dedicated to food sovereignty and community empowerment right here on Nuwuvi Lands in Las Vegas.
Join us on November 3rd for a high-energy day of music, creativity, and community action! Drop by with donations to support The Solidarity Fridge. For the entire month of November if you bring a new children’s book to help fill there libray, you’ll get $10 off general admission at the museum.
The Solidarity Fridge will team up with Local Artists to host an interactive canvas painting workshop on our patio, providing free materials for participants to explore their artistic talents, regardless of experience level.
Las Vegas Battle Jacket’s will be joining us again for a D.I.Y workshop and social club in our gallery. This month will feature special Punk Is Protest patches, honoring The Solidarity Fridge mission. For them, creating a community garden is a powerful form of protest, reclaiming their land while providing essential resources to the community. Join the club and start your next D.I.Y project, share community resources, and connect with fellow punk rock enthusiasts
CoZiLV will be hosting an interactive zine workshop upstairs in front of the Simple Plan mural! Don’t forget to grab a bite from Nevari Indian Fry Bread!
November at The Triple Down bar (inside the museum):
Throughout the month of November The Triple Down bar will feature a variety of bands as part of the Locals Only series. Each show will be included with every general admission to all museum guests.
November Artifact of the Month – No Use For A Name Longboard:
For November’s Artifact of the Month, the museum will be featuring the No Use For A Name 1964 Steve Olson classic longboard with a setlist written by Tony Sly. A photo of this board is featured on the album ‘Making Friends’, released in 1997 on Fat Wreck Chords. This artifact is on loan from Rory Koff, drummer of No Use For A Name. On a related note, Smelly, drummer of NOFX, has transitioned his creative focus to crafting custom surfboards through his company, Pickle Stix. We’re excited that Smelly will be a guest tour guide at the museum from November 15th to 17th, where he’ll share insights into his journey from punk rock to surfboard shaping. Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to reserve yours soon! From Smelly’s website – “As a kid, I wasn’t satisfied with just listening to music, I had to create it….and as an adult I am not just satisfied with surfing, I have to shape boards. The same creative mindset is in both.”
Coming to the Museum in March 2025!
Since its inception in 2012, the Punk Scholars Network (PSN) has expanded its membership and activities through conferences, symposiums, publications, talks and exhibitions, whilst seeking to maintain its original aim as an international forum for scholarly debate. PSN has also held a long-standing commitment towards the nurturing of research, not only in terms of post-doctoral output, but also through pedagogical and academic support for postgraduate and undergraduate research students whilst encouraging and supporting non-academics to pursue and develop their interests in punk scholarship.
The first two PSN Canada and USA joint conferences were held virtually during the COVID lockdown. Since that time there have been two in-person conferences held at DePaul University in Chicago. This third annual conference (on March 2nd & 3rd March 2025), a partnership with The Punk Rock Museum, reflects a desire to enact the broader PSN mission of scholarship as an engagement with punk artists, musicians, zinemakers, scene-builders, and archivists.
