Santa Barbara’s Versus The World will release their Cameron Webb-produced album ‘The Bastards Live Forever’ on May 26th. They made their post-pandemic comeback with their single ‘Roadsick/Roadsick,’ clearly following up musically on their last, more pop-punk-heavy album. With ‘Your Wedding And A Funeral,’ however, their tendencies towards post and emo become very clear: a real feast for the emos among us – with a lot of new stuff and beautiful, complex songwriting!
“This song is a kind of confession. An admission of guilt. It’s hard to look at something that’s broken and say out loud that you’re the reason for it. It was really therapeutic to write it and it’s one of my favorite refrains on the record. There are two versions of this song and when I listen to the first version, I’m really excited about how it turned out,” says singer Donald Spence about the very personal song.
