Pittsburg’s Zinnia’s Garden, an alternative rock band featuring pro skater Evan Smith on guitar, released a new single and video ‘Break Free Siren.’ The song is taken from the band’s upcoming new EP which comes later this spring.
About the project, the band shared: “There are many people we’d like to acknowledge! Michael Paul Media for your open collaboration and talent – we are so grateful for you! Nate Campisi for sound production and collaboration. Inspiration for the women spirit dance from the Foundations movement – performed by Britt Dorazio, Carmen Borla, Parris ‘PLew’ Lewis, and Shamikah Christina Martinez. Chris Corsini for inspiring us regularly, and particularly the Pluto moving into Aquarius workshop that helped bring clarity and solidify the concept. Jasmin for the continual support and all you do for us behind the scenes, and Kiah Rihana for writing an incredible siren song, for directing and conceptualizing the music video, and for designing all of our costumes by hand!”
They added: “We feel beyond grateful to be in a space where we are safe enough to be able to create and think past survival. That is a blessing, and with that comes duty. May we continue to help those around us, uplift one another, and help each other break free of the chains seeking to suppress us. We are in this together. Happy Spring Equinox!”
